Kwara state Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has joined other well-meaning Nigerians in congratulating Prof Abdurrazaq Abdulmajeed Alaro for being honored with the prestigious ‘most intellectual impact’ award from the International Islamic University of Madina in Saudi Arabia.
The Governor praised Professor Alaro, a native of Kwara State, for his remarkable achievements and recognized him as a global leader in the field of Islamic law.
He commended Professor Alaro’s continuous efforts in making significant contributions to knowledge, which have positively impacted his community.
In an official statement from Rafiu Ajakaye, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, AbdulRazaq expressed the pride of the Kwara state government and its people in associating with the extraordinary accomplishments of Prof Alaro.
He emphasized that the recognition bestowed upon him brings great joy and honor to both Professor Alaro and his family.
The Governor also highlighted the inspiring effect such achievements have on younger generations.
The University of Madina recently held an award ceremony where Professor Alaro was named the best alumnus of all time with the most significant intellectual impact.
Alaro was recognized alongside other distinguished alumni who have made notable contributions to knowledge.
Among the honorees were Dr. Hamid Choi Yong Kil, the first Korean Muslim to translate the Qur’an and Sahih Al-Bukhari into the Korean language, Dr. Muhammad Hidayat Nur Wahid, former Speaker of the Indonesia People’s Consultative Assembly, and Prof. Massire Doukoure, a specialist in computational linguistics at Yobe state University.
Currently serving as a faculty member at the University of Ilorin, Professor Alaro had previously received the Kwara State Lifetime Achievement Award in December 2022 for his exceptional contributions to society.
