Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has announced the immediate approval of modalities for the payment of outstanding 30 months’ half salary arrears.
According to the governor, the move is aimed at alleviating the financial burdens faced by civil servants and contributory pensioners
As posted on the official twitter handle of the governor, Senator Adeleke has also sanctioned the cashback of promotion exercises from 2019 to 2022, ensuring that employees receive their rightful dues.
The announcement comes as a welcome relief to the state’s civil servants and general populace, who have eagerly awaited the resolution of these long-standing issues.
Governor Adeleke has emphasized the importance of promptly addressing the financial concerns of the citizens and providing them with the support they need.
To facilitate the payment process, the governor outlined the following modalities:
- January 2016 arrears payment will be expedited without further delay.
- Commencing from the second quarter of 2023 (between April and June), the payment of other outstanding months, starting from February 2016, will be initiated. Subsequent payments will be made quarterly throughout the year.
- Pensioners who have not received their bounds will begin receiving their monthly pension contribution starting from March.
- The outstanding deductions for May and June 2019, February 2020, and October 2022, which were allocated to cooperatives, will be paid. The payment for May 2019 will be made immediately, while the remaining three deductions will be disbursed in each quarter of the year.
- Those who were promoted in 2019 and 2022 will receive the corresponding payment aligned with their current substantive post.
Governor Adeleke expressed his commitment to addressing the financial welfare of the state’s workers and pensioners, acknowledging the challenges they have faced in recent years.
