Tinubu confirms Gbajabiamila as Chief of Staff, Akume as SGF

 

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has confirmed the appointment of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, as his Chief of Staff in a meeting with Progressives Governors Forum (PGF).

The president also appointed George Akume as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation(SGF). He replaced Boss Gida Mustapha who one of the key players in the affairs of the last administration.

The former governor of Benue State, is the immediate past minister of special duties in the administration of ex-President Muhammadu Buhari

In a statement Mr Tinubu signed on Friday signed by Abiodun Oladunjoye, director of information in the State House, Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia was named as the deputy chief of staff in the office of the Vice President.

Integrity News reported that the president considered all potential candidates vying for the position among his supporters before choosing Gbajabiamila as the new Chief Of Staff.

 

His appointment would pave the way for other All Progressives Congress candidates who had given up on running for the House of Representatives seat in Surulere constituency 1 to replace the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Friday in Abuja announced the appointment of Speaker of House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila as Chief of Staff, and Sen. Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia, a former Deputy Governor of Jigawa State, as Deputy Chief of Staff.

In a meeting with Progressives Governors Forum (PGF), the President also named former Governor of Benue State and immediate past Minister of Special Duties, George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).
