Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC) has vowed to make the State difficult for criminals as it arrested six suspects with two 14 tyres trucks fully loaded with railway slippers at Oloru, Moro Local Government Area of the state at about 12 am today July 5, 2023.
While parading the suspects, the State Commandant of the Corps, Umar Mohammed, stated that the suspects were caught by personnel of the corps on night patrol.
The six suspects arrested by the command are: Yunusa Bello, 41; Sanni Taminu, 35; Sanusi Lawal, 25; Alhaji Makeri, 33; Lukman Sanni, 32 and Olabode Johnson, 41.
Commandant Umar however issued a strong warning to anyone who indulge in vandalism of important national assets and infrastructure to stop or face the wrath of the law.
He further cautioned that any act of vandalism would not be tolerated by the state authority under his command as his men have what it takes to fish out criminals who may want to terrorise the State of Harmony.
The Commandant also paraded another suspect, Babatunde Adekunle, 41 who was arrested on allegation of fraudulently swapping his ATM card with an elderly citizen’s at an ATM point.
In a statement by the Command’s spokesperson, Olasunkanmi Ayeni, Babatunde allegedly withdrew the sum of One million, eight hundred thousands Naira from the elderly man’s account.
The Kwara State NSCDC Commandant, therefore, promised the public that the command would continue to collaborate with other sister agencies to safeguard the safety of kwarans and Nigerians in general.
