Nigerian Airforce engages Kwara stakeholders on security

Men from the Nigerian Airforce 303 Medium Lift Group have commenced community and security engagement in Kwara State’s Asa local government area.

Group Captain Dan Apyeyak led the team to the local government.

The team paid visits to major community stakeholders in an effort to boost security and maintain peace and harmony.

The state administration, led by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has a history of working with security services, including providing them with resources to enhance their activities.

Governor AbdulRazaq recently received Group Captain Dan Apyeyak at Government House in Ilorin.

The combined team of the Nigerian Airforce, local hunters and vigilantes in Kwara State have been working together to flush out kidnappers, bandits and terrorists from the forest in Eiyenkorin, Peke and Okolowo in Asa Local Government Area of the state.

The joint operation is regularly conducted to return the area to normalcy and peace for travellers and residents on that route.

Kidnapping and other crimes have become rampant along Oko Olowo and other communities in Asa Local Government Area.

Earlier in the year, gunmen struck at Oko-Olowo, abducting three persons. The kidnappers demanded 100 million naira.

The victims are a young cleric, Alfa Sofiu Amolegbe, his sibling, Fasansi, and son, Aliyu.

They were later rescued according to spokesman of the Kwara State Police command, Okasanmi Ajayi.
