FG presents revised public service rules

The Head of teh Federal Civil Service, Dr FolashadeYemi-Esan, has disclosed the implementation and commencement of the revised public service rules

Yemi-Esan disclosed this at a public service lecture held at the presidential villa in Abuja in commemoration of the ongoing civil service week.

According to her, the revised public service rules have in provisions, tenured system for permanent secretaries who shall hold office for a term of four years and another renewable term based only based on satisfactory performance.

Also in the revised rule, “a director or its equivalent as may be prescribed by other MDA’s shall compulsorilly retire upon the attainment of eight years that position.”

The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Folashade Yemi-Esan, said the service would complement the effort of the current administration towards good governance and transformation and transformation of the civil service to world class

The special adviser to the president on monetary policy, Olawale Edun, said the civil servants are key stakeholders in formulating and implementing government policies.

In a lecture entitled: “Driving Digital Transformation in Nigeria”, the quest lecturer and Professor of Economics Policy, University of Oxford, USA, Stefan Dercon maintained that “the Digitization of work processes in the Civil Service would improve interaction, save cost and transaction time.”

The public service lecture was themed: “Digitization of Work Processes in the Public Service: A Gateway to Efficient Resource Utilisation and National Development.”
