President Tinubu has announced a special ECOWAS meeting slated for Sunday July 30, 2023.
According to a report, the meeting is aimed at addressing the coup situation in Niger Republic.
The ECOWAS chairman has been consistent in condemning the forceful takeover of the government in Niger.
He has also been consistent in his promise to move ECOWAS and the international community to ensure defence of democratic governance in the sub-region.
The Vice-President of the United States, Kamala Harris, and United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres had in separate telephone calls with President Tinubu affirmed their support to the position taken by ECOWAS βto restore constitutional order in Niger.β
