President Bola Tinubu has met with representatives of the organised labour to deepen discussions on the impacts engendered by the fuel subsidy removal.
After the meeting, the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Mr. Joe Ajaero, told newsmen that nothing new was brought forth.
He however said President Tinubu had expressed his position, made some commitments, which were taken side-by-side with what the Senate had said.
The NLC President said though that they, as representatives, would have to go back to their executives review the President’s proposition and announce their next line of action.
He explained that the meeting reviewed the President’s commitment in his last broadcast, saying the organised labour pointed out those areas that needed immediate action.
On whether President Tinubu asked them to suspend their protest, the NLC President said the President was a pro-democracy activist, understands protests.
