As the two days warning strike declared by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) begins today, Oyo state secretariat has kept its main entrance and exit points opened for workers to report to duty.
I-news observed that the gate of federal Secretariat in Ibadan,Oyo state capital was under lock and key in compliance with the directive of the NLC leadership.
At the Agodi Secretariat,Ibadan, scores of civil servants resumed duties even as the state pacesetter mass transit buses ferried a significant number of workers to the secretariat between 7am – 8.00am this morning.
Activities around some of the commercial banks at the Agodi axis were relatively low, as some of the bank officials said they would continue to observe the situation to determine full operation or otherwise.
However, the banks did not open to customers while their officials spoke under the condition of anonymity.
The notice for a two day warning strike was made last Friday by the NLC on how to mitigate economic hardship occasioned by the removal of the fuel subsidy.
