Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Mr. Femi Falana, urged Amnesty International to take the lead in the human rights community’s call for justice in the conflict between Israel and Hamas.
Speaking at a media parley in Lagos on Friday organized by Amnesty International, Falana commended the organization for its accomplishments but accused it of displaying hypocrisy when addressing atrocities committed by Western governments and Israel.
He highlighted the ongoing conflict between two entities, Hamas and the Israeli government, characterizing both as terrorist organizations responsible for the killing of unarmed civilians.
Falana criticized Israel, supported by the United States and other Western countries, for pursuing an agenda that resulted in the destruction of innocent lives, including children.
He emphasized the prohibition of collective punishment in the Geneva Convention, asserting that addressing the underlying crisis is essential instead of resorting to violence to defeat a terrorist organization.
Falana argued that Israel’s actions in the war with Hamas in the Gaza strip amount to crimes against humanity and genocidal acts.
