Former President Muhammadu Buhari has extended congratulations to the All Progressives Congress (APC) for its success in the recently concluded gubernatorial elections in Imo and Kogi States.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officially declared Governor Hope Uzodinma, the APC candidate, as the winner of the Imo governorship election.
Likewise, Usman Ododo, the ruling party’s candidate, emerged victorious in the governorship polls held in Kogi State.
In response, Buhari, through his spokesperson Garba Shehu, issued a statement on Monday expressing gratitude to the citizens of both states for reiterating their trust in the APC.
The statement reads, “Former President Muhammadu Buhari congratulates the All Progressives Congress @OfficialAPCNg on winning the Governorship elections in Imo and Kogi States, and thanks the people of the two states for reaffirming their confidence in the nation’s most prominent political party.
The former President thanks particularly the party leaders and the workers who labored tirelessly to ensure the re-emergence of Senator Hope Uzodimma @Hope_Uzodimma1 for his second term in Imo State, and Alhaji Usman Ododo @OfficialOAU as the new Governor of Kogi State.
