A former Niger Delta militant leader, Alhaji Mujahid Asari-Dokubo, has clarified that while he maintains a long-standing relationship with President Bola Tinubu, he is not seeking a federal appointment.
This statement came as he advocated for the resolution of the conflict between Rivers State Governor, Siminialayi Fubara, and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, emphasizing the importance of the state’s well-being.
He said, “I am not a regular politician; I am just a friend of Bola Ahmed Tinubu. I am not looking for an appointment, but those seeking an appointment made sacrifices and are looking up to me to ensure that their sacrifices are not in vain.”
Asari-Dokubo, reflecting on his friendship with Tinubu since the early 90s, expressed unwavering confidence in the President’s capabilities, leadership qualities, and dedication to principles of equity and justice.
