In response to the political tensions in Ondo State stemming from the dispute between Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and Deputy Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the State Executive Council, on Thursday, expressed unwavering support for the governor.
All 33 cabinet members, including the Secretary to the State Government, Oladunni Odu, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Olugbenga Ale, Head of Service, Kayode Ogundele, 16 Commissioners, and 12 Special Advisers, signed a communiqué reaffirming their commitment to Governor Akeredolu’s leadership.
Notably, Commissioners for Energy, Mines, and Mineral Resources, Razaq Obe, and Commerce, Industry, and Cooperative, Akinwumi Sowore, did not endorse the statement.
The communiqué emphasized the State Executive Council’s endorsement of the governor was a testament to his “exemplary leadership” and acknowledged the administration’s positive impact on both the people and the state.
The council members praised Governor Akeredolu’s dedication, sleepless nights, and commitment to serving the state despite numerous challenges, expressing pride in being under his leadership.
The communiqué concluded with a unanimous declaration of trust in Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, CON, and a pledge to continue working collaboratively for the advancement and prosperity of the state.
