A student enrolled in HND 1 for Food and Technology, who tragically lost her life, was reportedly brutally attacked by suspected cultists at her rented apartment in the Dapson Extension Area, Offa. She was discovered in a pool of blood by authorities who arrived at the scene.
Additionally, an unidentified male student, believed to be a cult group leader, was reportedly macheted to death at the school gate last week during a “sign out” ceremony.
The Commissioner of Police, Victor Olaiya, confirmed on Sunday that a suspect had been arrested in connection with the incident.
Preliminary investigations at the scene revealed signs of violence on the victim’s face and neck. The deceased student was certified dead at Wale Clinic and Hospital, and her body was placed in the mortuary for autopsy.
In response to these incidents, Commissioner Olaiya urged the public to remain vigilant, emphasizing the commitment of the police force to ensure the safety and security of citizens and their property during this period.
