Muslim must abstain from any act that can portray them in bad light to the world and always display exemplary conduct in accordance with the teachings of Islam.
This was the submission of a specialist in Medical Psychology and Psychiatry, Dr. Abass Mimiko, at the 113th edition of Islamic Vacation Course (IVC) of the Muslim Students Society of Nigeria, MSSN, B-Zone held at its permanent site Ibadan/Lagos express road.
Dr Mimiko condemned the rate at which young people get involved in various social vices, describing it as alarming.
He advocated the establishment of youth Empowerment platform by the Islamic leaders in order to be relevant in the Political landscape.
Dr Mimiko explained that there is no better time than now, saying that MSSN possessed the political strength and structure to make a difference in the country’s democratic election.
“Substance abuse, drop in commitment to the collective good and misuse of social media are issues that must engage our attention,” he noted.
The 2024 Ondo state governorship aspirant, pointed out that despite the prevalent of corruption in the country, Muslims must always engaged in transparent dealings.
In an address, the Amir of MSSN B-Zone, Mallam Qazzeem Odedeji commended the federal government for recognizing the benefits in Islamic financing for the growth of the nation,
He urged the government to equally extend the same gesture to Nigerians by considering interest free loans in all the government financial intervention to Nigerians.
“While I commend the federal government through the Minister of Finance, Mr. Wale Edun for recognizing the benefits in Islamic financing for the growth of our nation, I want to urge the government to equally extend the same gesture to Nigerians by considering interest free loans in all the government financial intervention to Nigerians”
Mallam Odedeji called on the governments at all levels to priotise the welfare of the citizens.
“Without doubt, some recent policies of the government such as removal of fuel subsidy, devaluation of naira, cash scarcity which is currently been experienced again, have all brought untold hardship on Nigerians”
“We therefore urge the federal and state governments to not only implement various palliative schemes without fear or favour but also, as a matter of urgency, improve the salary of workers to meet the current reality”
