Lawyer and former Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani has applauded President Tinubu for awarding the best and suitable hands into their sector with the appointment of Nollywood actor, Ali Nuhu as DG of the Nigerian Film Corporation.
Yesterday it was reported that President Bola Tinubu appointed eleven new Chief Executive Officers to head agencies under the Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, and Creative Economy.
The appointees include Tola Akerele as Director-General of the National Theatre, Dr. Shaibu Husseini as Director-General of the National Films and Censors Board, and Obi Asika as Director-General of the National Council for Arts and Culture. Other appointees will lead various agencies such as the National Gallery of Arts, National Institute of Cultural Orientation, and the Nigerian Film Corporation. The President has directed them to uphold professionalism and diligence to enhance the vibrancy of the creative sector. Additionally, President Tinubu ordered the suspension of the national social investment programmes due to a corruption scandal surrounding the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs.
The political commentator sharing his opinion on the appointment stated via his X platform: “Ali Nuhu’s appointment as DG of the Nigerian Film Corporation is commendable. He is a square peg in a square hole. This is a diversion from the past where politicians are appointed into positions that should ideally be reserved for professionals. The nation hopes to benefit from his experience.Wish him well.”
