Islamic High School Basorun Old Students Association Unveils New Executive, Promises More Developmental Projects

It was a celebration to remember for a very long time, as Islamic High School Old Students Association, National, IHSOSA organized its Bi-Annual convention and Annual General meeting at the premises of the School, Basorun Ibadan.

The event also witnessed the inauguration of new executive of the Association.

Speaking at the event, the Outgoing National President of the Association, Mr Olalekan Popoola, who acknowledged the members financial contributions, stressed the need for the old students to give back to their alma mata.

He expressed happiness for number of executed projects during his tenure and assured the new executive of adequate support.

In an acceptance speech, the National President, Islamic High School Old Students Association, IHSOSA, Dr Bayo Busari promised to sustain the laudable developmental programmes embarked upon by previous administrations.

“The new Executive Committee shall make efforts to sustain the laudable developmental programmes embarked up by previous past administrations. We will also renew our efforts towards the completion of pacesetting stride, made by the outgoing Executive Committee, on the L.A.B. Adigun Alumni Centre project. It is our hope that the project will take off within the 1st quarter of 2024. The same energy shall be deployed to actualise the dream of the information and communication technology Centre in due course.”

Dr Busari, who is
Postgraduate Coordinator,
Mass communication department,
Lead city University,
Ibadan, promised to strengthen the existing scholarship programme and support the school library for easy access to educational resources by both students and teachers.

“We are going to liaise with critical stakeholders to ensure the posting of quality teachers and N.Y.S.C. members to complement the staff strength of the school. The environment of the school shall also be given a face lift to make the school attractive and conducive to teaching and learning. Not only this, all past leadership of the Association will be accorded due recognition in a Hall Fame to be established soon”

Other executive are; Tpl Zubair Niyi Muftau as Vice President, Mr Adesina Lawal as National secretary and Mr Ishola Qaudri emerged as financial secretary.

Others are Bello Ismail Treasurer, Olubisi Davies-Ojo PRO, Yetunde Ayodele-Ojo as social secretary and Mrs Yetunde Omowumi Emmanuel as Assistant Secretary.

The rest are Shu’ara Olalekan Popoola Ex officio 1, Ladeji Abideen Lasun Ex-officio 2.
