Church’s Financial Secretary, Three Others Arrested For Abducting Two Plateau Catholic Priests

Four persons have been reportedly arrested for allegedly kidnapping two Catholic Priests at the Saint Vincent de Paul Fier in Kwande, Shendam Diocese of Plateau State.

Frs. Kenneth Kanwa and Jude Nwachukwu were abducted on Thursday, February 1, by some unknown gunmen who stormed the parish.

Confirming their abduction in a statement on Sunday, February 4, parish priest, St. John Mary Vianney, Kwande, Shendam Diocese, Fr. Cornelius Nweke, urged all Catholics to pray for the release of the priests.

However, in a twist of event, four persons said to be members of the church have now been arrested in connection with the abduction. The gang was reportedly led by the Church’s financial secretary.

The four suspected kidnappers suspected to have kidnapped two Catholic Priest of Pankshin Diocese.

The two priests were serving at St. Vincent De Paul perish Fier.

The kidnappers were demanding for the sum of N25 million naira as ransom.

All the four suspects are members of the church led by the financial secretary of the same church.

The priests are Reverend Fathers Kenneth Kanwa and Jude Nwachukwu.
