Africa’s largest airline, Air Peace, is making waves as it secures approval to operate commercial international flights to and from John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York, USA. The Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development greenlit the expansion, in line with the ‘Open Skies’ agreement between the US and Nigeria.

In a monumental move, the Nigerian Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development granted approval to Air Peace for operations to the US. This decision aligns with the ‘Open Skies’ agreement, which allows for unrestricted air travel between the two nations. H.T. Ejibunu, the ministry’s director, formally conveyed the approval in a letter dated February 9, 2024.
