Two of the suspected kidnappers who allegedly abducted a man in Lanlate area last weekend, collected ten million naira ransom but forced to abandon the money during a gun duel with members of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, VGN, have been arrested in a forest near Iseyin, Oyo state.
It was earlier reported that the Vigilantes vowed to flush the criminals out after the sad discovery of the lifeless body of their captive while trailing them.
The Vigilantes gave the name of the victim as Alhaji Ilu Bamako (m.d, d.m.d) and identified his abductors as Musa Ibrahim (20) and Rabiu Aliu (30).
An AK 49 gun was reportedly found in their possession at the time of their arrest, along with two women who allegedly acted as informants to perpetuate the crime.
They are Balik Abdullah (20) and Suliya Isiaka (25), one of them was said to be an ex wife of the kidnapped Alhaji Bamako.
According to the Vigilantes, the two suspects and their women informants have been handed over to the police at Ado Awaye Division, Iseyin, including the gun found in their possession.
Oyo state Commander of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, VGN, Comrade Sunday Olajide who confirmed the update said efforts are being intensified with the police to apprehend two other accomplices who reportedly escaped with injuries during exchange of gunshots with Vigilantes.
