Tragic As 30-Year-Old Nekede Polytechnic Graduate Commits Suicide

In a tragic turn of events, Nerus Elemamba, a 30-year-old graduate of the Federal Polytechnic Nekede in Owerri, Imo State, has taken his own life. His lifeless body was discovered hanging in his room on Monday evening in Umuohii, Obaoma community, Ezinihitte-Mbaise Local Government Area of the state.

According to information gathered by the Press, Elemamba committed suicide immediately after participating in the village’s manual labor alongside his peers earlier that day. A source from the village, speaking to journalists, mentioned that there were no apparent signs of depression in the deceased before the tragic incident.

The source emphasized that Elemamba had actively engaged in village activities and even shared jokes with his peers as usual. The sudden and unexpected nature of his suicide has left the community bewildered. The source stated, “No one knows for sure what prompted him to take his own life because he participated in the village manual labor in the morning. It is quite surprising that Nerus, who was hale and hearty, could hang himself just a few hours after work.”

The incident has plunged the village into a state of confusion and fear, with the community seeking answers to the cause of his untimely death before proceeding with funeral arrangements. When contacted, Henry Okoye, the Imo police spokesperson, mentioned that he had not yet been briefed on the development.
