Release Heir To Our Throne To Restore Peace, Community Leader Pleads With DSS

A community leader in Ita-Agbede, Agosasa, Ogun State, Prince Gabriel John, weekend, appealed to the Department of State Service, DSS, to release the heir to the throne of their community, Prince Sunday Akogunrin, from their custody to allow peace reign in the town.

He stated that the continued detention of their king- elect would continue to disrupt the peace and tranquillity of the town.

According to him, the crisis in Agosasa started when their king died and as custom demands, the kingmakers asked the next ruling house to present their prince for traditional rites to commence.

“In Agosasa town, we have two ruling houses. When one dies another king will come from other side.

”The ruling house met and sent nominated Prince Akogunrin as the next king and the kingmakers started preparing him for seat when another contestant to the throne (name withheld) brought out gun and shot one of the supporters of the heir apparent.

“This resulted into crisis which led to the burning of many houses including the house of the man that shot the supporter of the heir apparent. The government came in and resolved the matter.

”The problem is that our community is solidly in support of the heir apparent but opponent have people in government that continued to protect him against the wishes of our people.”
