The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has announced the arrest of fifteen suspected Internet fraudsters in Zaria, Kaduna State.
A statement released by the anti-graft agency on Thursday via X noted that the suspects were apprehended outside the premises of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, following credible intelligence linking a syndicate of fraudsters to suspected involvement in internet fraud.
Consequently, the EFCC operatives acted swiftly on the intelligence received, leading to the arrest of the suspects in the vicinity of the university.
During the arrest, items were recovered from the suspects.
“Items recovered from them include cell phones and laptops. The suspects were immediately moved to the Kano Zonal Command of the EFCC for a more thorough investigation.
“They will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded,” the statement added.
On Wednesday, operatives of the Enugu Zonal Command of the EFCC arrested 23 suspected internet fraudsters in Enugu State.
