Angry protesters have attacked the Digital Industrial Park of the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) in Kano state, carting away state-of-the-art equipment worth billions of Naira.
The centre, which was due for commissioning on Wednesday, August 7, was invaded by the protesters who broke into the offices and made away with the equipment.
Report says the generator room at the centre was also set ablaze during the attack.
The Digital Industrial Park is one of the six centres established by the federal government to deepen the digital economy by training young Nigerians on digital entrepreneurship.
The attack on the centre has been condemned by stakeholders who described it as a setback for the development of the digital economy in the country.
