The 47th United State President Donald Trump has doubled down on his threat of military action in Nigeria over alleged targeted killing of Christians in the West African nation.

In a video message on Wednesday, behind a lectern bearing the seal of his office, Trump condemned the killings attributed to radical Islamist groups and threatened immediate consequences if the Nigerian authorities fail to act decisively.

Trump described Christianity in Nigeria as facing an “existential threat”.

“I am hereby instructing the Department of War to prepare for possible actions. If we attack, it is going to be vicious and sweet just as the terrorist thugs attack our chrished chirstians. The Nigerian government had better move fast before it is too late.
