PAG Felicitates Muslims on Commencement of Ramadan Fast

The Political Awareness Group (PAG) has felicitated with all our esteemed members and the entire Muslim Ummah in Nigeria as we witness the blessed month of Ramadan.

A statement by the PAG Chairman, Dr Lukman Fasasi and the secretary, Miftaudeen Adesola thanked Almighty Allah for granting the opportunity to witness the sacred month of mercy (Rahmah), forgiveness (Maghfirah), and emancipation from the Hellfire.

The group prayed that Allah showers His abundant rahmah and barakah upon Muslims, purifies their hearts and grants them the grace to maximise the immense rewards embedded in this noble month.

“Ramadan is a season of spiritual rebirth and moral discipline. We therefore encourage all our members and Nigerian Muslims to: Increase regular _Dhikr_ (remembrance of Allah) and constant supplication, Engage more in _Sadaqat_ (charity) to support the needy, vulnerable, and less privileged in our communities, Avoid vain talks, divisive rhetoric, and actions that diminish the spiritual value of our fast, Strengthen the bond of Islamic brotherhood, unity, love, and mutual respect among ourselves.

” Allah reminds us in the Noble Qur’an, Surah Al-Baqarah (2:183), that fasting has been prescribed so that we may attain righteousness (taqwa).”

Let this Ramadan refine our character, deepen our consciousness of Allah, and renew our commitment to justice, compassion, and responsible citizenship.

PAG appealed to the government at all levels to use this sacred season as a moment of reflection and responsibility by embarking on people-oriented policies that will bring tangible relief to Nigerians and urged the authorities to prioritise economic reforms that reduce hardship, address inflation, improve security, and ensure that governance translates into real comfort and dignity for the ordinary citizen.

Ramadan teaches empathy and sacrifice. It is our hope that leaders will embrace policies that reflect the spirit of compassion, fairness, and accountability that this month symbolises.

It prayed to Allah accept the fasting, prayers, charity, and all acts of worship and grant Nigeria peace, stability, and prosperity.
