Tinubu returns to Nigeria, dismisses false claims about health
President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Nigeria after a four-week journey to France.
The former Lagos State governor arrived at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja around 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
His running mate, Kashim Shettima, and other party supporters received him at the airport.
The president-elect left Nigeria on March 21. He had a brief spell in France, the United Kingdom, and Saudi Arabia for the lesser hajj.
Upon his return, Tinubu expressed his readiness to kick start work ahead of the May 29th handing-over date.
Speaking to the large crowd who followed him home, the President-elect said: “I’m happy to be back. I have rested, I’m refreshed and I’m ready for the task ahead.
“Forget about what the rumour mill may have told you. I’m strong, very strong.”
Tinubu would be inaugurated as Nigeria’s new president on May 29.
He will be replacing president Muhammadu Buhari who will be completing his two two terms of eight years as stipulated by the Nigerian constitution.
