FEC approves Mohammed Kamaldeen, 36 other new universities

Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, has announced the approval of  Muhammad Kamaldeen University and 36 others across the country.

He made this known while briefing State House correspondent at the Extraordinary FEC meeting held in Abuja, after the special meeting presided over by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo.

He said that by the foregoing, the present administration had surpassed any other administration in terms of establishing universities.

According to him, 37 new private universities have been licenced and that will make this admiration probably the by most universities friendly administration because we have so far established 72 universities.

On a different development, the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, said the Council also approved the Universal Implementation of the Employee Compensation Act (ECA) 2010.

He mentioned that the Council for the Regulation of Social Insurance has approved the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) for universal implementation, replacing the old Employee Compensation Act, also known as “Workmen Compensation”.
This law, according to the minister, will now be implemented in the public sector, including federal, state, and local governments, in order to provide protection for their workers.
