Major General Bamidele Alli Alabi has assumed Command as the 41st General Officer Commanding, following his appointment as the General Officer Commanding One Division and Force Commander Operation WHIRL PUNCH Kaduna.

The GOC urged the officers and soldiers of the division to step up their efforts in order to address the current security issues bedeviling the division’s area of responsibility, according to a statement by the acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, Lt Colonel Musa Yahaya.

He also praised formation commanders and all principal officers for their significant contributions to the division’s performance thus far.

According to him, “One Division is the premier division of the Nigerian Army, we are one and we must always be ahead.”

Major General Alabi expressed gratitude to Almighty God and the Chief of Army Staff for his appointment as General Officer Commanding One Division.

Highpoints of the events were signing of handing and taking over notes, decoration of the new GOC with one Division insignia, hoisting off a new Division’s flag at quarter guard to signal the commencement of a new era in the Division and a group photograph.
