Gov Abdulrazaq urges corps members to shun vices
Kwara State Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, has urged members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to shun frivolities and be ready to take responsibilities in line with their national assignment.
According to a statement by the State NYSC spokesperson, Oladipo Morakinyo, Governor Abdulrazaq gave the advice while declaring the 2023 Batch “B” stream 1 orientation course open today at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Yikpata in Edu Local Government Area.
Represented by his deputy, Elder Kayode Alabi, Mallam Abdulrazaq congratulated the newly mobilised Corps Members for their academic qualifications, which make them eligible for the national service.
He also urged the youth to shun vices that can distract them from achieving the goals set for them by the founding fathers of the scheme.
Chief Judge of Kwara State, Justice Abiodun Adebara, who administered an oath allegiance to a total of one thousand and sixty seven Corps members at the camp, urged them to imbibe the spirit of the oath.
Earlier in a welcome address, the Kwara State NYSC Coordinator, Mr Olaoluwa Onifade, made a passionate appeal to Kwara state government to construct additional hostel accommodation for the ever increasing Corps Member’s population in the state.
The coordinator, however, appreciated organisations and individuals who have added value to the NYSC in Kwara State.
