Tinubu needs your support to succeed — Oba of Benin urges Nigerians
The esteemed Oba N’Edo Uku’Akpolokpol, Ewuare II, the Oba of Benin, has appealed for the support of all Nigerians in order for President Bola Tinubu to achieve success in his tenure.
Following a meeting with the president at the State House in Abuja, the monarch expressed his confidence in the Tinubu administration’s ability to perform well.
Speaking to reporters, the Oba of Benin emphasised the importance of backing the president, noting that he has already started working diligently.
“He has hit the ground running, and everyone can see it. We should support the President. As traditional rulers, we will support the President, and we encourage others to do the same. It is crucial for his success,” the respected monarch stated.
Although the purpose of the Oba’s visit to the president remains unclear, it is believed that the meeting was to formally congratulate Tinubu on his inauguration as president and to discuss matters concerning the Nigerian people.
Earlier, President Tinubu also had a meeting with Akinwunmi Ambode, the former Governor of Lagos State, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. This meeting followed their previous interaction during a state reception hosted by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on June 29.
Reports suggest that Ambode’s return to the forefront of Lagos politics began with Governor Sanwo-Olu’s visit to commemorate his predecessor’s 60th birthday on June 14. President Tinubu is reportedly contemplating offering Ambode a government appointment, and this meeting is presumed to be an opportunity to finalize discussions on the matter.
President Tinubu received Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, for a meeting during his audience at the Presidential Villa.
