KNHA constitutes 38 committees to oversee operations
The Kano State House of Assembly (KNHA) has recently established 38 standing committees responsible for overseeing various aspects of the house’s operations.
This decision was announced during a plenary session presided over by the Speaker, Alhaji Isma’il Jibril Falgore.
The committees, which were officially inaugurated, cover essential areas such as health, education, pension, culture and tourism, women, children, and disability issues, information, public petition, transport, emergency and relief, among others.
In a separate development, KNHA has made a formal request to the state government, urging them to upgrade the Kiru comprehensive clinic to the status of a general hospital.
This motion was put forth by Alhaji Usman Abubakar Tasi’u, the representative of Kiru constituency, and received full support from the lawmakers.
The assembly has also adopted another motion, initiated by the member representing Rano local government area, calling for the renovation of the Rano water treatment plant. This action aims to address water scarcity in the region.
During the session, Alhaji Abdulhamid Abdul Minjibir, representing Minjibiri, presented a motion seeking the reconstruction of the road from Minjibir to Amsharo, Gwagwata, Tsakuwa, Kankarawa, Tsalle, Bawuri, and Larabar Narogo.
Other lawmakers also presented motions, such as Engineer Ibrahim Ahmed, who highlighted the importance of establishing a college of education to improve educational standards in the Karaye area.
Additionally, a motion of urgent public importance was raised by the representative of Tarauni regarding a distressing incident that occurred a few days prior at Dan Tsinke in Darmanawa ward, Tarauni local government area. The incident involved the desecration of three graves and the removal of three dead bodies by some misguided individuals. The Majority Leader, Alhaji Lawan Hussaini Dala, supported this motion and stressed the necessity of providing solar lights and adequate security measures across graveyards in the state.
Finally, the house adjourned its sitting to Monday, July 31st, based on a motion put forth by the Majority Leader, Lawan Hussaini Dala.
