The house of Representatives has directed the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System IPPIS office to present documents containing enrollment and number of civil servants paid monthly through the scheme from 2015 till date.
The chairman of the adhoc committee set up to investigate the cases of gross mismanagement of the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System IPPIS by Ministries, Department and Agencies of government, Mr Yussuf Gagdi, gave the directive at the innaugural meeting of the committee in Abuja.
Mr Gagdi, said the committee is saddled with the task of unveiling the causes of employment racketeering from 2015 till date, to plug leakages and bring sanity in the public service.
This according to him also include salary padding and favouritism amongst others, which he said have affected succeeding government’s efforts in Nigeria to stem the tide of unemployment among the people.
The Lawmaker assured that the committee would look into the employment records of various MDAs, to ensure compliance with federal character as embedded in the nation’s constitution as well as identify fraud committed in the public service.
“Huge resources that would have been channeled towards providing succour to the downtrodden masses have gone down the drain due to some corrupt activities and employment racketeering and other salary paddings.
” It behoves on us therefore, to satisfactorily carry out this daunting task without fear or favour.

Dr Abbas, who was represented by the deputy speaker Benjamin Kalu, added that the problem also affect the integrity of the nation’s institutions and distorts the aspirations of many citizens, who seek competitive and fair opportunities
