Kano: Hisbah calls on motorists to obey traffic rules
A call has gone to motorists and other road users to obey traffic rules, to minimize road accidents in Kano state.
The commander general of Kano state hisbah board, Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, gave the charge while receiving the managing director of Kano state road traffic agency (KAROTA), at hisbah headquarters Sharada Kano.
He noted that obeying road traffic rules is inline with Islamic teachings, on protection of lives and properties.
Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa promised that Kano state hisbah board would collaborate with KAROTA, to organize a sensitization campaign on traffic control.
” would no doubt reduced the rate of accidents on major roads,in which lives and properties were lost, the Sensation campaign would be targeted towards minimizing, excess speed while flying roads, reckless driving, at the traffic lights, or corners, and round about.”
The commander general highlighted that preparations were in top gear, to redeploy hisba personnel to major roads, markets, mosques and schools.
Earlier in his remarks, the Managing Director of Kano Road Traffic Agency (KAROTA), Alhaji Faisal Mahmoud Kabir, stated that they were in Hisbah to seek and collaborate in areas such as teaching the public on how to avoid road accidents, over speeding, and maintaining law and order.
He also urged the board to establish a dedicated Da’awa (preaching) unit across all ministries and departments in the state, which he said would go a long way toward reducing societal vices.
Faisal took advantage of the opportunity to alert the hisbah commander general that KAROTA had intercepted three cars filled with various bottles of beer on the Zaria Kano Road.
