The Kwara State Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq has joined other well meaning Nigerians to celebrate the brilliant outing of the Super Falcons of Nigeria after the came from behind to beat the co-hosts, Australia, by three goals to two.

The elated Kwara State Governor, in a post on his official Facebook page, commended the spirited performance of the Nigerian girls for going all out for her maximum three points.

For Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum noted that Nigerians are proud of the performance of the team.

He reiterated his support for the team and vowed to cheer them on every step of the way.

Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq said, ” I commend the amazing and spirited performance of Nigeria’s Super Falcons in their match against Australia’s Matildas earlier today. Securing a victory over the co-host of the FIFA Women’s World Cup was no mean feat. We are proud of our ladies and we’ll continue to cheer them on every step of the way. #Soar Super Falcons.” He concluded.

Nigeria held on to cruise to the much needed victory despite a late goal from the Australians.

The result moved Nigeria to the top of Group B, tied on four points with Canada, while Australia is a point behind both before the final fixtures of the group on Monday.
