Sokoto: BUA donates free drugs,books, power transformers to rural communities

BUA Cement has offered free medications to sixteen local community clinics in Wamako LGA, Sokoto state, as part of its corporate social responsibility.

Eng. Yusuf Binji, Managing Director and CEO of BUA Cement, disclosed this while distributing the items to the beneficiaries in the area.

Engineer Yusuf Binji stated that BUA has also supplied cement to sixty-eight villages, emphasizing that over a thousand children in the area have received two pairs of school uniforms and exercise books from BUA.

The managing director said they had also installed three 500 KVA Transformers to Gidan Salanke,Gidan Rafi and Gidan sanda villages in a bid to boosting electricity generation in the areas.

Eng.Binji added that the gesture will be an annual event for the host villages in order to bring value to their livelihood.

He urged the Wamako Local Government Council to implement a monitoring system to guarantee that the donation was not misappropriated.

Appreciating the gesture, the LGA’s overseer, Alh.Bello Muhammad Tureta, stated that the presence of BUA cement has brought socio-economic growth to the area.

Also speaking, Wamako district head Alh. Aliyu Barade expressed gratitude and asked the recipients to make good use of the gifts donated by BUA.
