NNPP Rejects Atiku’s Call To Unseat President Tinubu

The New Nigeria Peoples Party NNPP has rejected the call of the Presidential Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party PDP in the 2023 election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to join him in his judicial fight to unseat President Bola Tinubu.

The former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar had at a news conference in Abuja called on his Labour Party counterpart, Mr. Peter Obi and that of the New Nigeria Peoples Party Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso to join hands with him to use allegations of certificate forgery to prosecute the fight against the president.

But briefing newsmen in Abuja, the acting Deputy National Chairman of NNPP, Prince Nwaeze Onu distanced the party from Alhaji Atiku’s quest, insisting that the party did not approach the court over the 2023 polls and was not ready protest on the streets.

Prince Onu maintained that it was not right to resort to underhand tactics when the matter was still in court.

On the state of the NNPP, Prince Onu restated their resolve to continue to reposition the party and sustain the momentum acheived in the last eight months since Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso and his supporters moved into the NNPP.

He commended the independent national electoral commission INEC and the judiciary for their commitment to deepening the nation’s democracy.
