Uzodimma has won all the LGAs announced so far.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) held the first off-cycle elections since the 2023 general elections as Bayelsa, Imo, and Kogi State residents decided on their governors for new four-year terms.

A total of 46,084 regular and ad hoc staff were deployed in the three states, according to the electoral body.

At least 126 national and international organisations were accredited with 11,000 observers deployed for the elections, while 80 media organisations applied to deploy 1,203 personnel, including journalists and technical/support staff.

All 18 political parties contested in Kogi, while Imo and Bayelsa have 17 and 16 candidates, respectively. The parties deployed 137,934 agents made up of 130,093 polling and 7,841 collation agents for the election.

To ensure a secure environment for electoral conduct, the police mobilised a total of 92,565 personnel, including 27,000 in Bayelsa, 25,565 in Imo, and 40,000 in Kogi, and several assets such as five helicopters and 15 gunboats.

The Federal Road Safety Corps also deployed 1,500 operatives and 105 vehicles.

The INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, says the elections will be held in 10,470 polling units across 649 electoral wards in 56 local government areas.

08:29 am: The collation centre has gone on an hour’s break.

08: 19 am: APC also got victory in Ideato North, polling 5,271 votes to defeat LP (1,522) and PDP with 2,062. Mbaitoli scored APC 12,556 votes, LP 4,007 and
PDP 5,343.

08: 04 am: Ohaji Egbema: APC – 14,962; LP – 1,506 and PDP – 3, 694. In Ihitte Uboma, APC polled 11,099; LP, 2,766 and PDP, 3, 077.

07:58 am: APC also won in Orlu LGA, polling 37,614 votes; LP – 2, 424 and
PDP – 3,690.

07: 31 am: The centre resumes the collation of results with Ikeduru LGA the next. According to results from the area, APC scored 22,356 votes; LP, 1,377 while PDP polled 7, 258. Ehime Mbano LGA: APC- 6,632; LP – 4,958 and PDP – 681.

05: 41 am: Isu LGA: APC continues to take more council areas. It scored 11, 312 votes here; LP, 1, 253 and the PDP, 2,508. In Ahiazu Mbaise, APC polled 8,369; LP 2, 214 and PDP 3, 507

05: 27 am: For the Ngor-Okpala council, the APC scored APC 14,143; LP, 2, 716, and PDP, 3, 451. Oru East voting goes like this: APC; 67, 315; LP, 3,443 and PDP, 2,202.

05:24 am: For Onuimo LGA, the APC won. The party polled 13, 434 votes; LP, 1,753 and PDP 2,676.

05: 14 am: In Okigwe LGA, the APC had 55,585 votes; LP, 2,655 and PDP, 1, 688. Away from there, the APC scored APC 16, 891; LP 1, 649 and PDP 2,469 in Ideato South.

5:06 am: A party representative/agent has been beaten and bundled out of the collation centre after consistently raising the alarm over alleged discrepancies in the results.
