Armed bandits launched an attack on the Ruwandoruwa community in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State, resulting in the tragic death of a mobile policeman attached to the Maru Police Division.

The incident, which occurred at approximately 12:30 am on Tuesday, saw the assailants indiscriminately firing gunshots upon entering the community.

During the attack, the mobile policeman valiantly attempted to defend the district head’s residence but was fatally shot in the process.

The bandits, unable to locate the district head, resorted to abducting 15 individuals, including the wife of a monarch in the community.

As of now, there has been no communication from the bandits regarding any ransom for the release of the abducted persons.
