Supreme Court Judgment: Security Agencies Warn Kano Politicians
Ahead of undisclosed date of the Supreme Court judgment on the Kano governorship election, a joint-security meeting in the state has warned the supporters of the New Nigeria People Party (NNPP) and All Progressives Congress (APC) to desist from any conduct that could undermine the peace in the state. Kano State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Gumel, said the police and sister-security agencies have mapped out strategies to ensure adequate security in the state.
He recalled that they had foiled a number of plots by some faceless political pressure groups and interests, who were hell-bent on fomenting trouble in the state.
Gumel appreciated the leadership of both political parties as well as the people of the state for their cooperation, support and understanding, “as the joint security agencies in the state will ever remain committed to the protection of the lives and property of all residents in the state.“
In attendance at the meeting also were the leaderships of both NNPP and APC, well as some local government chairmen in the state.
