Oluwo Lauds Military Collaboration In Fight Against Insecurity
The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, has lauded the collaborative efforts among different formations of the Nigerian military in addressing security challenges, particularly in the realms of intelligence gathering and information sharing.
In a statement released by his press secretary, Alli Ibrahim, on Tuesday, Oluwo expressed that this cooperative approach has significantly contributed to curtailing insecurity in the country.
The royal father observed that the inter-agency collaboration has aided intelligence gathering and information dissemination among the military.
He expressed hope that, with the newfound understanding within the men and officers at the battlefront, insecurity would reduce significantly in the coming months.
The statement partly read, “Nigeria’s security architecture has significantly improved as manifested in the decimation of terrorism and banditry. This was not unconnected with the appointment of capable hands as security chiefs. The synergy and inter-agency collaboration among them mostly especially in intelligence gathering and information dissemination have contributed immensely in checkmating insecurity.
I specifically and especially commend the Commander In Chief of the Armed Forces, President Ahmed Tinubu for appointing capable hands as Service Chiefs to reconstruct the security model of Nigeria.”
He gave the security baton to the best hands in the military and the police. He also gave them free hands to do their job without interference. Today, we are all seeing the results from these dedicated Nigerian patriots.
“Yesterday, I saw the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Taoreed Lagbaja in Sokoto to identify with and celebrate Christmas with troops of the operation Hadarin Daji at Gingiya Barracks. The approach of these chiefs to tackling insecurity is unique. It shows readiness, dedication, commitment and loyalty to one nation. I doubt if we had ever had it show well like this. The morale is high. They deserve our prayers, commendation and ultimate support.”
The Oluwo of Iwo also called on Nigerians to support the security men in intelligence gathering by providing useful information that could help in the prevention of attacks, asking the government to provide more welfare packages for security operatives in the country to keep their morale high.
