Father Demands Explanation From Oyo Hospital As Genetic Mystery Leaves Daughter SS Despite Parents’ SC And AA Status
Adediji Moses, a 34-year-old father of three, recently took to social media to share his distressing experience regarding the alleged swap of his biological child at birth at Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital in Ogbomosho, Oyo State. Following tests revealing that the child given to his wife had the SS genotype, Moses details how this incident has profoundly impacted his family.
In 2018, Moses and his wife, unaware of her imminent delivery, rushed to the hospital when she began feeling unwell. Arriving at a facility where medical workers were on strike, they encountered only a nurse late at night. The nurse, unable to assist, referred them to Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital. Upon reaching the hospital at midnight, Moses’s wife underwent delivery, and a baby girl, Esther Adediji, was born on November 15.
Post-delivery, Moses’s grandmother, who accompanied them, assured him that she would stay with the newborn, advising him to get some rest. Shortly thereafter, they were informed that their baby had jaundice and a brain-related issue. The medical staff emphasized the necessity of prompt treatment to prevent potential developmental challenges for the child.
