Scam Warning: NAHCON Officially Debunks Nursing Job Notice, Urges Vigilance
The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has refuted the dissemination of misleading information on social media, debunking claims that it has issued an invitation for volunteer nursing staff to apply for recruitment for the 2024 Hajj services.
Fatima Sanda Usara, Assistant Director at NAHCON, emphasized that the commission has not authorized any organization to enlist volunteer nurses for Hajj services. She issued a strong warning to the public, urging them to exercise caution and avoid falling victim to potential scams.
Usara clarified that only medical personnel directly engaged by the commission would be granted the authority to provide medical services during Hajj in Saudi Arabia. She highlighted that, in accordance with Saudi Arabian medical policies, State pilgrims’ boards, private tour operators, or other organizations are not permitted to operate clinics unless affiliated with a recognized Hajj Mission approved by the Saudi Ministry of Health through the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
She emphasized the serious consequences of disregarding these regulations, stating that those who act otherwise risk arrest and persecution.
Additionally, NAHCON clarified that Sheikh Muhammad Suleman Adam, the Imam of Sultan Bello Mosque, has disassociated himself from the purported recruitment offer. This clarification aims to address any potential confusion or misinformation surrounding the involvement of religious figures in the alleged recruitment.
In conclusion, NAHCON urges the public to rely on official channels for information regarding Hajj services and to remain vigilant against fraudulent schemes that may exploit individuals seeking to participate in this religious pilgrimage.
