Bode George Advises Atiku To Mentor Young Politicians Ahead Of 2027 Presidential Race
Former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bode George, has advised the PDP’s 2023 presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, against considering a run in the 2027 elections. George emphasized the importance for Atiku to assume a mentorship role, encouraging younger politicians to vie for the presidency due to concerns about Atiku’s age.
Speaking to reporters in Abuja, George expressed, “Atiku Abubakar, who turned 77 last year, will be 81 in 2027. It’s essential for him to take on the role of the elder statesman or big uncle. At my age, nearing 80, what purpose would seeking a ministerial position serve? Let’s focus on mentoring the younger generation and remain committed to the principles of our party.
