BREAKING: Gunmen Kill Plateau APC Spokesman, One Other

Gunmen attacked a pub in Plateau State’s Pankshin Local Government Area, resulting in the tragic deaths of two individuals, including Sylvanus Namang, the Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state. The incident occurred on Saturday, with conflicting responses from APC officials initially. Enock Fanmak, a former state chairman, expressed disbelief and requested verification, while an anonymous APC chieftain later confirmed Namang’s death.

According to the source, Namang had attended a burial in Pankshin on Saturday and subsequently visited an eatery in the area. Unfortunately, armed individuals approached and shot him, along with another victim, a businessman. Despite efforts, Namang succumbed to his injuries, leading to his untimely demise.

Expressing shock, the source called on security agencies to identify and apprehend the assailants, emphasizing the need for justice. The Plateau State Police Command’s spokesman, Alfred Alabo, was unavailable for comment at the time of reporting.

This tragic incident raises concerns about the security situation in the region, with residents and political figures urging swift action to address the escalating violence. The Plateau State Police Command’s response to the incident is awaited as investigations continue.
