Residents Lose Properties As Many Areas In Lagos Flooded After Few Hours Downpour
Some areas in Lagos today such as Abule-Egba, Aguda, and Agege experienced sudden and intense flooding.
The aftermath of the rain resulted in property losses for residents, with photos and videos depicting cars partially submerged in water and individuals wading through flooded streets.
The official Twitter account of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) acknowledged the flooding, cautioning Lagos residents to exercise care and explore alternative routes. The agency attributed the flash floods to a substantial amount of rainfall and informed the public that NEMA, LASEMA Fire Service, Police, and other stakeholders were actively involved in evacuating people from high-risk areas.
This inundation occurred following months of heatwaves in the state, highlighting the unpredictable and contrasting weather conditions experienced by the residents of Lagos.
