Two adults and four children have been found dead at a residence in the suburbs of the Canadian capital Ottawa, and a suspect has been arrested, police said Thursday.

No details were provided. Police said in a statement “a tragic and complex investigation” was underway.

They said they responded to emergency calls just before 11 pm Wednesday (0400 GMT Thursday) and found the deceased victims inside a Barrhaven area residence in Canada.

A suspect was arrested at the scene. “There is no ongoing threat to public safety,” the statement added.
