JUST-IN: Gunmen Abduct Worshippers In Ogun
Ogun State Police Command confirmed on Friday that two worshippers were abducted at a Celestial Church in Mowe, located in the Obafemi/Owode local government area of the state, by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers.
According to the command spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, the incident took place on Thursday at the church premises near Oriyarin village, Mowe. The victims were identified as Oladapo Seyifunmi and Oluboboye Abiola. The perpetrators fled the scene through a dense forest behind the church.
In a statement titled “Suspected Kidnapping,” Odutola said, “Report at my disposal reveals that on 28/3/2024, unidentified gunmen invaded a Celestial Church around Oriyarin village, Mowe, and abducted one Oladapo Seyifunmi and one Oluboboye Abiola, and escaped through the thick forest behind the church. The Commissioner of Police, Alamutu Abiodun, has been briefed, and he has ordered immediate mobilisation of security personnel to go after the hoodlums.”
The police have initiated efforts to track down the suspects and ensure the safe return of the abducted individuals.
