There was palpable fear as a stray bullet hit a journalist, Naziru Yau working with the Kano state owned television station, Abubakar Rimi Television Station, ARTV, at the State Government House.

The fear was heightened as the origin of the stray bullet was yet to be known.

Naziru, alongside his colleagues attached to the government house were said to be proceeding to cover a government function when the incident happened around 7pm on Friday night.

It was gathered that the reporter who sustained injury was later rushed to the government house clinic where he was treated and discharged.

Worried by the development, police officers stationed at the Government House have initiated a thorough investigation to uncover the circumstances leading to the incident.

As of the time of compiling this report, there is no official statement from the Kano Government House regarding the incident.
