Breaking: Downpour Causes Flood On Lagos Roads

The downpour on Wednesday morning has left the Iyana-Oworo, Olopo Meji area leading to the 3rd Mainland Bridge underwater.
The flood rendered the road almost impassable causing gridlock and discomfort for commuters.
Our correspondent, Sanusi Abdullahi Oyelekan, who was at scene the flooded areas eyewitness that Iyana-Oworo, Olopo meji area heading to 3rd Mainland Bridge this morning was completely flooded, causing long traffic that extends to Alapere Ojodu Berger.”

According one of the commuters who works at Victoria Island Isaac Omokunle said, he had been on the road for the past 5 hours, waiting to get bus to transport him to his office but couldn’t get.
Another one at Oworoshoki BRT Terminal, Linda Okorie said, she had been on the BRT queues hoping to get the bus but no vehicle was able to pass the water submerged roads.
A car owner who spoke to our correspondent in anonymity said, his got broke down immediately the car scale through the flooded road, saying perhaps couldn’t be the reason for other car or bus owners to standstill waiting for water to go down before moving even though,the rain was still heavy.
He called on government to rescue the areas from being flooded because that’s the major road that links Lagos mainland to Island, a Central Business Area of Lagos state.
